Can ŞAKUL

He was accepted as a scholarship student to the viola department of Bilkent University Music and Performing Arts Faculty in 1997. He began his studies with Irsad Mehmet and continued with Cavid Cafer since 2000. He continued his performances as a principal viola with Bilkent Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2006. He appeared in concerts with Bilkent Youth Virtuose chamber orchestra founded in the same year. He took part in as an assistant of principal viola with the World Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Damiano Guiranna in 2007. He attended inthe concerts with Turkish Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra as a principal viola under the baton of Vladimir Askhenazy in 2008.  In the same year he graduated from Bilkent University Music and Performing Arts Faculty and was accepted in the master class with Bruno Pasquier at Sakul Lozan Conservatory.  After he was accepted to the Camerata Lozan led by Pierre Amoyal in 2009, he became one of the 3 violets of the ensemble. He attended Europe, Russia and Singapore tours of the ensemble and it was played making for the French classic music canal, Mezzo in Paris. In 2010, the string quartet in which he was a member of appeared in concerts in many cities of Sweden including Radio Suise Romande. He was also selected for the chamber music group founded by representing Lozan Conservatory and he attended the International Students Chamber Music Festival organized in Stuttgart of Germany.  He was invited for representing Turkey to perform with the International iPalpiti Soloists Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Eduard Schmieder. He took part in Philadelphia and Los Angeles concerts of the ensemble. He realized the performance of the solo viola part of the work called Young Apollo by Britten in Los Angeles Walt Disney Hall concert in July 2011. He has been attending to the concerts of the ensemble since 2011. During his education, he attended the workshops of Prof. James Creitz in Ankara, Prof. Tatiana Masurenko in Ayval?k International Music Academy, Simon Rowland-Jones in England, Garfield Jackson, Su Zhen and Pierre-Henri Xuereb. Some important festivals and concerts of which he attended are; The Henry J. Bruman Chamber Music festival in U.S.A, Montebello Festival in Sweden, Schubertiade Activities, Saint-Requier Festival in France, Cannes Festival, Forets Festival, Singapore Sun Festival in Singapore, Lionel Tertis 10th Viola Festival in England, Miam 10th Year Activities in Turkey, What is not written on musical notes for kids by Emir Gams?zoglu and Memet Ali Alabora at ??Sanat. He has worked as an Orchestral Artist performing with Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra and continued to Proficiency in Art with Associate Professor Burcu Tunca at the State Conservatory of Anadolu University.
